This is a NATURAL PAGEANT and contestants should look their age. A panel of judges will score each contestant on her individual attributes which includes three phases of competition: Formal Wear, Casual Wear and On-Stage Question. PreTeen contestants will also be scored in Talent. All PreTeen contestants MUST compete in talent.
AGE DIVISIONS: The age of the contestant will be based on her age as of June 14, 2010. Tiny Miss Division- Ages 3,4 & 5. Mini Miss Division- Ages 6, 7 & 8 will compete for the title of Little Miss Heartland. Petite Miss Division- Ages 9 & 10 and Junior Miss Division- Ages 11, 12 and 13 year olds (that will be entering 7th Grade in Fall 2009) compete for PreTeen Miss Heartland. 13 year olds who will be entering the 8th Grade will compete in Heartland's Outstanding Teen program.
The judges' panel will be instructed to look for the girl next door NOT a child that is 5 going on 25. This should also follow through in the photos submitted for the Photogenic competition and their performance in the Talent competition.
The Little Miss/PreTeen Miss Heartland Pageant committee will work hard to maintain the integrity of this competition. It is the committee's desire that every contestant walk away with a good feeling about themselves as well as the Little Miss/PreTeen Miss Heartland program. Only two young ladies will become Little Miss Heartland and PreTeen Miss Heartland, but it is our hope that all the contestants will develop the desire to continue to participate in the Little Miss, Pre-Teen Miss, Miss Teen and Miss Heartland programs.
