Areas of Competition, continued
Talent
Each contestant, in both "Miss" and "Teen," will be allowed to showcase her talent. Each contestant will be scored on talent selection in relation to the contestant's personality and skills, technical skill level, stage presence, and overall performance. The Talent Competition accounts for 35%(Miss)/35%(Teen) of the contestant's total score. Time Limit: Teen -- 2 minutes; Miss -- 90 seconds
Talent requests will be granted on a "first come, first serve" basis. Accompaniment music must be submitted to pageant officials, on CD or cassette tape (preferrably CD).
Evening Wear
Each contestant, in both "Miss" and "Teen," will model evening wear of her choosing. Each contestant will be scored on sense of confidence, personality, stage presence, posture, carriage, and grace. The Evening Wear Competition counts for 20%(Miss)/15%(Teen) of the contestant's total score.
All accompaniment music MUST be received by September 12, 2009. We recommend you bring an additional copy of your music on pageant day.
The Master of Ceremonies will conduct an on-stage interview with each contestant. Questions will be submitted by contestants. Each contestant will be scored on charisma, stage presence, personality, and ability to be a spokeswoman for the Miss Heartland Organization. The extemporaneous responses to on-stage questions count for 5%(Miss)/5%(Teen) of the contestant's total score.
